High up in the Windy Valley, which touched the sky, lived the Avian Tribe. The people of this tribe were experts in building gliders and loved flying more than anything else. However, there was one rule that everyone had to follow strictly: “Never fly through the Dark Thunderclouds,” because it was believed that above the thunderclouds was the home of fierce lightning monsters.
“Luna” was a young girl with short fiery red hair, full of energy and curiosity. She always wore aviator goggles on her forehead and loved spending her free time rummaging in her grandmother’s attic, which was filled with old treasures from past journeys.
One afternoon, while Luna was searching through old wooden crates, she found a carved wooden box. Inside the box was a “Golden Compass” with intricate designs. But what was strange was that this compass didn’t point North; it always pointed up at the sky. There was also an old parchment map depicting floating islands and a sparkling tree, with a message written: “The Edge of the Sky: The Birthplace of Shooting Stars.”
Luna’s heart raced. She had heard bedtime stories about the island at the edge of the sky, but everyone said it was just a made-up tale. If this map and compass were real, it meant that the secret of shooting stars didn’t come from deep space, but from a floating island above the Dark Thunderclouds!
“I have to prove it!” Luna told herself. She secretly brought out a carved wooden glider she had built herself, prepared supplies, and tied the Star Compass to her wrist.
At twilight, Luna stood on a steep cliff. She watched the compass glow with an increasingly bright golden light. She adjusted her aviator goggles, spread her glider’s wings, and launched herself into the air!
The cool wind hit her face. Luna expertly steered her glider up into the sky. But as she approached the Dark Thunderclouds, the atmosphere changed. The sky turned dark, and the wind howled as if trying to tear her glider’s wings to pieces.

CRACK! A deafening thunderclap echoed. Purple lightning struck just inches away from her glider. Suddenly, translucent white figures resembling mist appeared, surrounding her. They were the “Wind Spirits” who guarded the thunderclouds. They tried to blow Luna down to the ground below.
“I won’t give up this easily!” Luna shouted over the roaring storm. She noticed that the Star Compass was blinking rhythmically, pointing towards a narrow path between the lightning strikes. Luna decided to trust the compass. She sharply turned her glider, dodging the lightning and wind spirits with acrobatic maneuvers as if dancing in mid-air.
She used the force of the wind spirits to her advantage, steering the glider to surf the wind currents, soaring higher, higher, and higher. Until finally… she successfully burst through the fierce storm clouds.
As soon as she passed the storm clouds, a new world appeared before her eyes. The sky above was a bright pinkish-purple, completely free of any storms. And right in front of her was a massive floating island, hovering peacefully in the sky.
Luna landed her glider softly on the island. The scenery on this island was as beautiful as a dream. The ground was covered with glowing grass, but what caught her eye the most was the giant tree standing in the center of the island.
Its trunk was made of clear crystal wood, its leaves were colorful gemstone crystals, and at the end of each branch, tiny sparkling stars were forming.

Luna approached the crystalline tree in awe. She saw one star fully matured. It slowly detached from the branch and shot up into the sky, leaving a long trail of golden light… It was a shooting star!
“This really is the Edge of the Sky. The place where shooting stars are born,” Luna smiled broadly. Her eyes reflected the bright starlight. One tiny newborn star drifted down and landed on her hand. It was warm and shone brightly.
Luna spent time exploring the wonders of this island. She took notes and drew pictures of everything in her journal. When it was time to return, she knew the journey back down would be safe because she now knew the way and how to evade the wind spirits.
When Luna returned to the Windy Valley, she didn’t bring the shooting star back with her, because she knew stars belonged in the sky for people to wish upon. But she brought back stories, drawings, and the truth to share with everyone, proving that above the dark storm, there were no fierce monsters, but beauty waiting for the brave to discover.
From that day on, the rule forbidding flying through the clouds was lifted. The people of the Avian Tribe practiced flying so they could see the beauty of the island at the edge of the sky with their own eyes. And Luna became the greatest female explorer in the tribe’s history, showing everyone that the courage to overcome fear will always lead to great discoveries.
Moral of the Story: Curiosity and the courage to set out and explore new things are the keys that lead to great knowledge and discoveries. Don’t let fear or what others say stop you from following your dreams.
