The Little Dragon Who Had No Fire

High upon a mountain wrapped in purple clouds, there lived a dragon clan called the “Flame Tribe.” Every dragon in the tribe had one special ability: they could breathe fire in different colors. The red dragons breathed blazing crimson flames, the gold dragons breathed brilliant golden fire, and the blue dragons breathed cool blue flames.

But there was one dragon named “Pix” who could not breathe fire at all.

Every time Pix tried to breathe fire, what came out of his mouth were giant rainbow-colored bubbles - they floated up into the air, caught the light beautifully, and then popped in a moment.

“Pix breathes soap bubbles!” the young dragons would tease and laugh.

Pix went back to his cave alone every day. He practiced and practiced until his head ached, but still he produced only bubbles. Some days the bubbles came out larger than a house. Some days thousands of tiny ones drifted through the village. But never fire.

One day, news reached the village: “Shadow Emerald,” a colossal venomous serpent, was making its way to attack the Flame Tribe. This serpent carried a venom that could extinguish any fire. The dragons grew frightened, knowing the poison would snuff out their flames in an instant.

The clan chief ordered every dragon to prepare - except for Pix. “Stay in your cave. You’ll only get in the way.”

But Pix refused to stay behind. He followed quietly behind the others.

When Shadow Emerald arrived, it spewed a cloud of black poisonous mist across the battlefield. Every dragon’s fire went out in the blink of an eye. The entire village moaned and fled. The dark smoke made it impossible to breathe.

Seeing this, Pix drew the deepest breath of his life and breathed out with everything he had.

Thousands of giant bubbles erupted from his mouth - but this time they were different. Each bubble blazed with brilliant rainbow light, brighter than ever before. And when the bubbles hit the serpent’s poison mist, they did not pop. Instead, they absorbed the venom inside them, then floated upward - higher and higher - until they vanished beyond the clouds.

The black mist faded away. The air grew clean and clear again. Every dragon breathed freely, and their flames reignited with fresh brilliance.

Shadow Emerald felt fear for the first time in its life. It turned and fled at once.

Every eye turned to Pix.

The clan chief stepped forward slowly. “You… you did not breathe fire. But you breathed something greater. You breathed pure light. Your bubbles do not destroy - they cleanse.”

Pix stood still, his heart pounding. His whole life he had believed he was broken. But the truth was that he simply had a different kind of gift.

From that day on, Pix was given a new name: “Dragon of the Rainbow Light,” and he became the greatest guardian the Flame Tribe had ever known.

Moral: What we think is our weakness may be a special gift waiting to shine. Do not compare yourself to others - instead, discover what you are good at and use it with all your heart.
